Leah is a California native, born and raised. Photography started at an early age for her as her father was a passionate photographer himself. He gave her his old Minolta XRT101, which became permanently fixed to her hand. She spent most of her high school days in the dark room, learning how to push the limits on post processing. After graduating from SDSU with degrees in both Criminal Justice and Psychology, she decided to pursue her love of horses. An accomplished rider and competitor in the event of cutting, she became the PCCHA Amateur Champion and the AQHA Limited Am Reserve World Champion. In 2004, she began working for Professional's Choice Sports Medicine where she is currently the Director of Warehousing and Manufacturing as well as the Director of Photography. Horse life behind her, she began traveling the world with her cameras which opened her eyes to all of the incredible sights and experiences this world has to offer. It set in as such an addiction that she has once again returned full circle to her love of photography. In 2016, The Nature Conservancy awarded her image "Xmas on the Merced" as their "Best Nature Photo of the Year". To honor her accomplishment, they invited her back as a judge in 2017. Her work has graced the covers of Western Horseman, Valley Vet, NRS and South Texas Tack.
Her love of the outdoors spills over into her commercial work where she has captured exciting images of horses, dune buggies, Alaskan kayaking and NASCAR! Leah is a member in good standing with ASMP (American Society of Media Photographers)
After using their products for years, Cokin Filters invited Leah onboard as one of their prestigious product ambassadors. Her love and use of their amazing products can be seen in almost all of her work. Leah is available for both group and private lessons as well as a travel guide.
